Almost Nothing

Is it Something or isn’t it?

Nothing is the absence of anything. Almost nothing I would characterize as something slightly more than that. I mean it's only like a tiny sliver more than nothing, small enough that it's difficult to call it something. I suppose for those who deal in absolutes it would be something. I guess I feel that there is a certain expectation there when you say "this is something". The danger of course is that if you present it as something and someone calls you on it and says "Hey that's almost nothing", you have to make a choice there as to whether or not you want to make a argument based on semantics. You could for instance say that anything more than nothing is something and you'd be right. However you could hardly blame a person for being somewhat disappointed when you offer something but then what they get is almost nothing. See what I mean?

3 things you should know about Almost Nothing

1) Almost nothing made Jerry Seinfeld extremely wealthy.

2) Thousands of amazingly brave young people have died and are dying in Iraq for almost nothing.

3) The top 10 percent of the population have all the wealth leaving the rest of us almost nothing.

Do some research!

Why not do some research on the concept of almost nothing. It takes almost no time and will cost you almost nothing. This is important because in the future you will find that you must be satisfied with almost nothing most of the time. We all might as well get used to it now because almost nothing good is going to happen in the future unless we are able to take almost nothing and turn it into something. That is going to require a new way of thinking. You're not going to get away with doing what everyone else does if you want something more than almost nothing.
